The Gulf of Maine Daily Climatology Products are divided into two groups: Moving Average Climatology Products and Annual Temperature Products. The Moving Average Products are all based on a daily climatology calculated using Pathfinder SST daily data for the period of 1985-1998. The Moving Average technique involves calculating an average based on a sliding 7-day window, over the 14 years of the time series. Images of the Daily Climatology (i.e. the average), as well as the Standard Deviation, Variance, Minimum and Maximum of all images used in the moving average are available from the drop-down list in the menu bar at the top of this page. In addition, the yearday of several climatological temperature milestones are also available. The second group of products are Annual Temperature Products. This group consist of annual Minimum and Maximum temperatures calculated from daily data between 1985 and 1998, as well as the yearday 10 degrees and 15 degrees celcius were reached for the first time in each of those years.
